How does it work?

When you register you'll get immediate access to a content management system (CMS) that makes creating websites as easy as writing an email. You can create as many websites with as many pages as you like, though I recommend starting with just one and concentrating on one subject to start with.

The CMS creates websites with clear, minimalistic design like the one you're reading now. This allows your website visitors to concentrate on what's important - your content - and the search engines like it too. For example, search Google for passive income and you should see one of my sites in the #1 spot.

As you may be aware, you'd normally need to register a domain name to do this, which would cost you money (around $50 for a com.au), and there are rules about who can do that. Using my system that's not necessary as I have a domain name registered, omw.net.au, and you'll use something called sub-domains. For example, let's say you're writing about credit cards. Your website address could be creditcards.omw.net.au. Once you've claimed this sub-domain, no-one else will be able to use it.

I've used the system to create a website for movie reviews; I expect to be able to show the results of this system directly in the very near future. You'll find this in the progress report.

You can write about anything you want - sport, travel, news, personal finance...anything. If you just want to comment on the days news headlines, that's fine too. I only ask that you follow some basic content guidelines.

Making money

Take a look at the green box on the right of this page ->

That is a Google AdSense box, and the advertisements it contains should relate to the content on this page. I assume they're offering passive income and other wealth creation opportunities, or domain name registration and related services. On your pages the ads will offer products relevant to your content. There's another box in the top-right hand corner. You'll get that, too.

Every time someone clicks on one of the ads on this page, I get paid. Every time someone clicks on the ads on your page, you could get paid, too. It's called 'pay per click' (PPC) advertising and it's that simple. It's also what made Google one of the richest companies in the world.

Using these and other revenue generating opportunities, your pages will start to generate revenue the moment they're published.

Passive income

Here's the best bit...once you've created your page it has the potential to earn you money forever. Even if your page only generates you $50 per month in advertising revenue that equates to $3,000 over the next five years. Considering that it may only have taken a few minutes to write the page in the first place, that's not a bad hourly rate!

Now imagine what happens when you scale that up by adding more pages. If you add a page a week, taking maybe an hour of your time, and each of those pages generates you an average of only $20 per month in advertising revenue, you'll still be receiving nearly $1,000 per month and you'll have made over $6,000 in your first year. Write two pages a week and you can double that figure.

Who can do it?

Anyone. If you can find your way around a basic website (and I'll assume you can as you've made it here), are familiar with Microsoft Word (or any word processor) and you can string a few sentences together on your chosen subject, then you can do this. You can spend as little or as much time as you like on this. You're not paying for it, so there's no pressure and you're not losing out if you don't write anything for a few weeks. You have nothing to lose.

So, why am I doing it?

There's no catch, but I'm obviously here to make money, too, and I do that by taking a small amount of your revenue. This works on a tiered scale, which ends up with you receiving 90% of your revenues when you're earning $1,000 or more each month. The full scale can be seen here, but to give you an idea, $500 of advertising revenue would be split $140 to $360 in your favour; $1,000 would be split $240 to $760 in your favour; and $2,000 would be split $340 to $1,660 in your favour.

Put simply...if you don't make money, I don't make money, so I'll be working my a$$ off to make sure that doesn't happen.
